Welcome to CGCC English

English 101 and 102 are the two-semester, six-hour English composition sequence.  These courses are designed to help you develop competence in writing that is meaningful and challenging.  They will provide opportunities for my students to make genuine connections among their academic lives, personal and professional worlds, and community.  As an instuctor, I will strive to help my students understand writing as process, with emphasis on the roles of reflection and self-exploration as students develop rhetorical awareness about audience, purpose, subject, and self.  In the short term, students’ dedication to improved writing skills will enable them to fulfill written assignments in this and their other college courses with a high degree of proficiency and, in the long term, provide them with the tools for success as individuals and contributing members of a community.
